How to Add your own Custom Cursor on Tumblr

Adding a custom cursor to your Tumblr blog is a cool way to add some special customization. You can either search for an image you like on the internet or you can search Tumblr’s custom cursors tag or you can make your own in an image editor like Photoshop, Paint.net or Gimp. Just make sure the image is small enough (around the size of a cursor) and you may also want to make the background of the image transparent.
Once you’ve gotten the image you want, upload it to a free image hosting site like TinyPic. The reason why you have to upload it to an image hosting site is because you’ll need a link for the image in order to add the code to your Theme’s HTML. If you have your own hosted website, you can upload it to your site as well and get a link.  Once you get the URL for your image, paste it into this code between the parentheses:
*, body, a, a:hover {cursor: url(URL for your image), auto;}
Next, go to Tumblr.com, click the gear button on top to access your settings, click your blog’s title on the left, click the customize button on the right and scan down the left sidebar until you get to the box that says “add custom CSS”. See image below.

Paste the code that’s provided above with your image’s URL into this box

Finally, save your changes and you’ve got your own custom cursor.
If you don’t want to create your own image, you can do a search on the internet for an image you like or check the custom cursor tags on Tumblr as I mentioned above.
Enjoy!
