‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit’ berkisah tentang usaha seorang analis muda CIA, Jack Ryan (Chris Pine), dalam mengungkap plot seorang teroris. Jack diminta untuk menyamar dan bekerja di sebuah perusahaan di Moskow untuk mengintai seorang pengusaha Rusia yang berbahaya dan dicurigai telah merencanakan tindakan terorisme untuk meruntuhkan perekonomian di Amerika Serikat. Namun, situasi menjadi lebih rumit ketika istrinya, Cathy Ryan (Keira Knightley) terlibat. Akhirnya Jack sudah menemukan sebuah rahasia yang mengejutkan, namun hal itu membahayakan bagi dirinya sekaligus istrinya.
